Riding a bike is a treasured childhood experience. Do you remember the day you received your first bike? Do you remember the joy you experienced and the freedom you felt when riding a bike for the first time?

For a child, bike riding offers far more than a recreational experience. Bike riding provides a source of much needed exercise, gives therapeutic value and contributes to an inclusive environment.

Sadly, many cannot afford the high costs of bikes and remain on the sidelines while watching their friends and family members ride by.

The BMOA Annual Bike Giveaway is on a mission to raise awareness for the need of bikes in our surrounding urban Houston areas and provide as many of them as possible. Every year, the BMOA  gives hundreds of children the opportunity to receive a fully assembled bicycle and helmet through the BMOA Annual Bike Giveaway.

In 2016, the BMOA Annual Bike Giveaway is back and bigger than ever! This year, our goal is to give away 300 bikes to the children who need them most! Our mission is to ensure that no child misses out on the freedom, confidence and fun that comes with riding a bike.

The BMOA Annual Bike Giveaway 2016 is dedicated in memory of Carroll Oliver, a  McDonald’s owner operator and member of BMOA Houston. Earlier this year Carroll was tragically taken from us. On January 11, 2016 after picking up the weekend deposit from his beloved McDonald’s, in the historic 5th ward neighborhood, Carroll was murdered during an attempted robbery. While our hearts still ache from losing Carroll, we want to honor him and give back to the community that he loved so much. Unfortunately, Carroll's murderers are still at large.

If you have any information the reward is now $50,000, we urge you to contact HPD Homicide Division at (713) 308-3600 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
